Crowe & Crow -- Step 2
The first step (as is often the case) is also
the most important -- being the selection of the source image
statue. No matter how good a photoshopper you are, if the source
image is marginal, the end results will suffer.
So dig deep for the right image -- looking for
large format, sharp, and dramatically lit images. Don't worry
about the background; that can be fixed. Ideally, you want to
select an image that -- untouched -- would still impress the viewer.
For Crowe and Crow I bypassed an internet search
and went to a local art musuem, photographing every statue they
had. In the end I was most pleased with the bust shown here --
the Emperor Caracalla by Cavaceppi.
All by its self, it's a nice image.So with the
Emperor selected, the search began for a celebrity image to match
his basic perspective...
